THE IMMUNE SYSTEM

Your defense system, in constant readiness, is referred to as the Immune System, a constellation of amazing molecules in possession of astounding intelligence and fortitude. They are in battle array, ready to defend, to attack, to kill, and to eat. The enemy in this case is not physical accidents or gunshot wounds, but is much more resilient and prepared. It is not fought on land, sea, or in the air, but in your body. This enemy consists mainly of diseases such as viruses, bacteria, and infections, caused by a host of microscopic organisms. The enemy is everywhere round about, in the food we eat, in the water we drink, in the bed we sleep in, in the mouth we talk with, and in the nose we breathe with. We just cannot get rid of them. They are always with us. They are in our blood.
